MADARA Cosmetics in "Northern Future Forum 2012” 06/12/2012
The chairman of the board of MADARA Cosmetics Mrs. Lotte Tisenkopfa-Iltnere has received an official invitation from the Prime Minister of the Republic of Latvia, Mr. Valdis Dombrovskis to participate at an international conference Northern Future Forum 2012. The event will take place from 8th-9th of February in Stockholm, Sweden, with an aim to promote the cooperation by exchanging the most innovative ideas among Northern countries, Baltic countries, and Great Britain.
Participation in this event is a great honour to MADARA Cosmetics, since this year it is the only company that will be representing Latvia in this event. Northern Future Forum 2012 will gather representatives from nine countries – Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Iceland, Latvia, Lithuania, Norway, Sweden and Great Britain. Delegation from each country will be officiated by Prime Minister of the respective country.
MADARA is pleased to be from the second greenest country in the world 30/01/2012
According to the research Environmental Performance Index (EPI) carried out by Yale and Columbia universities, Latvia, in terms of the greenest country in the world takes second place, outrunning such countries as Norway, Great Britain, France and Sweden. Switzerland became the research leader out of 132 competing countries.
"Latvia, which is in the second place on the EPI in 2012, while in Trend EPI - in the first place among all countries included, has invested large amounts of energy during the last years, carrying out various environmental initiatives - for example, by not using coal in energy production and actively restoring forests – and the results can be clearly seen," says EPI project Director Angel Hsu on Latvia's being at the forefront.
"The most valuable resources of Latvia are – biological diversity, water and air. All this give us an invaluable royal life environment, when compared to many other places in the world, but unfortunately these resources are not limitless. They are far too valuable to be accounted for in money, but they do give an additional value to our country. This is important to keep in mind when planning the development of Latvia's national economy," emphasises Sanita Ribena, Director of the Homo Ecos Society.
EPI is a quantitative research that follows the results of the national environment, employing the best available data. The research has been carried out for many years, publishing the results once every two years on the official Yale University homepage of Environmental Performance Index - http://epi.yale.edu/
It is interesting that the research carried out in 2008 admitted Latvia as the 8th greenest country in the world, in 2010 it took 21st place, but in 2012 Latvia is already in 2nd place in the world.
Precise research results, criteria and descriptions of other countries can be found at - http://epi.yale.edu/

MADARA Cosmetics receives certificate of Good Manufacturing Practices 09/01/2012
Company MADARA Cosmetics finished year 2011 by completing all necessary requirements for acquiring the GMP or Good Manufacturing Practices standard (ISO 22716:2007) and thus proving continuously high quality of its products.
The certificate approves that the manufacturing process of MADARA Cosmetics, Ltd. complies with the high quality standards and that the customers can be sure that they are using safe and high quality cosmetics products. The fields of certification include not only manufacturing process but also personnel qualifications, quality of the equipment and premises, as well as product storage and subcontractor management.
„The manufacturing process of MADARA Cosmetics has from the very beginning been organized and managed by the highest standards. This certification process allowed us to prove that by having an independent international auditing organisation Bureau Veritas to verify the compliance with all requirements. One of the most important values of our company is high quality and GMP certificate is an official approval for following our values,"explains the director of company Uldis Iltners
This standard complies with the requirements defined in the regulation (EC) No 1223/2009 of the European Parliament and the Council for cosmetics manufacturers of the European Union, which will come fully into effect starting from July 11th, 2013. This regulation is made to ensure that all cosmetics products are safe, taking into account the latest science developments (for example, use of synthetic ingredients, nanoparticles etc.). At the moment, there are only two cosmetics manufactures in Latvia that have fulfilled all requirements for GMP and MADARA Cosmetics is one of them.
Keep the sunbeams on your skin 03/11/2011
Even though in autumn we cover ourselves with more and more clothes, it is still nice and pleasant to start the day with light, golden glow on your skin. It is a way how you may have the festive feeling every day as well as on special occasions.
We sure know that the skin also has to feel good, not only look good. Therefore, MADARA has created shimmering moisturising lotion Flower dust, which fulfills both of these functions and falls into the category of "decorative skin care cosmetics with mineral pigments".
Where does the shimmer come from?
Lotions or cremes with shimmering effect are usually made on the basis of skin care creme or lotion, adding mineral Mica to it, which reflects light and ensures the shimmering effect. The difference between tinting fluids and shimmering lotions is that the body lotion doesn't contain any coloured pigments (Iron Oxides), but only the shimmering mineral Mica - this ensures that the lotion doesn't leave any stains on your clothes. The shimmer enlivens the colour of your skin, evens out the skin tone, and, depending on the Mica tone, it also gives your skin the look of light summer tan.
Make every day feel like celebration!
Find a gentle touch 04/10/2011
Protect your gentle hand skin, when the first cold winter mornings appear. Both – coldness and wind can make your hand skin rough and nails brittle. Therefore, it is essential to remember about accessories (gloves) and also about appropriate skin care products. Human skin structure in every part of the body is different. It is interesting that your hand skin does not have an ability to protect itself entirely. Hand skin has 4-5 times less water than facial skin.
Therefore, hand skin care treatments have to be different and MADARA has created a special hand cream with a pleasant smell of plum kernels – deep moisture hand cream – the effectiveness approved by the jury of Cosmopolitian Beauty Awards 2011 in Latvia.
Advice for cold hands
Daily rush can make us forget about gloves and special hand treatments. Therefore, if the cold weather has made your hand skin turn red, it deserves special care: warm up some olive with the help of hot bath water, massage the oil in your hands, put on cotton gloves and spare the moment to think good thoughts. This procedure will make your hand skin softer and your body will be thankful for the warmth given.
Thinking of you throughout all seasons…

A lovely user's testimonial for MADARA 29/09/2010

MÁDARA is best known for its award-winning natural and organic skincare products but they have just branched out into hair care and the results are truly sensational.
I tried the 'nourish and repair' shampoo and conditioner (£9.90 each) but the whole range is ECOCERT certified and contains no artificial dyes, fragrance, SLS or parabens. What they do contain its lots of lovely herbs and plants from the Blatic region, including nettle, linden flower, quince and plantain.
The shampoo was thinner than most shampoos but it lathered up well and the smell was heavenly. I felt like I was lying in a meadow on a summer day with flowers blooming all around me. The conditioner was creamy and left my hair feeling nourished and slinky. I have never really had a hair care range that left my hair smelling great the next day but this stuff left my hair smelling of fields! I was in a particularly boring meeting the next day and it facilitated my day dreaming of being out side in the fresh air.
